m4.2" barrell in the shorty?

so what are the chances of getting one of the shortys with a 4.2" barrell? (once production starts for them) and keep in mind i am from canada and we have minimum barrell length of 106mm (4.17")

i see the overall lengths are .450" apart, but the barrell lengths are the same (both 4.2") why is this? what is different about the two pistols to keep the barrell length the same but overall length…
