It would be great to hear a report about a 5000 rounds intensive torture test for the XR9-S using +P ammo only. Let's say 9mm 115 to 124gr +P JHP (preferably using american made ammo with some real power)

ps: an optional magazine extension with higher capacity would be a good idea for your XR9-S.

I second the idea of extended mags offered for carry reloads. I'd set the length at about 5 1/2-6". BUT I wouldn't add any grip material to the sides of the mag so it would still be a slim, smooth item carriable in the weak-side pocket. Perhaps even with a simple, flush metal baseplate akin to a 1911 mag.
well I was thinking more of an optional extended mag providing both a higher capacity AND a place for a third finger.
A carry reload with a little bit of grip material added is not taking much place in your pocket anyway.
Well, a clean mag isn't going to step back from the frontstrap any more than the thickness of that fronstrap (a couple millimeters) so it would give your last two fingers purchase and leverage against recoil. It wouldn't be a big deal for a thin, textured zytel sleeve to wrap around the mag, rising from the baseplate . I just don't want something the full thickness and/or depth of the pistol grip.

By the way, another useful improvement would be tritium sights so one can shoot it accurately in darker conditions, which I think is important for a defensive weapon (problems are likely to happen at night)...but maybe the xr9-s already has these? If not, that is an easy improvement to be made.
I hope my recommendations are making some sense.
this beeing said phosphorescent sights (tritium or any other glow stuff) are only interesting if they are durable, accurate (meaning well adjusted) and not disturbing day shooting. So maybe that is not so much of a good idea?
We may at some point offer extended mags, but this requires tooling investment. As far as the thickness of the extension is concerned, why shoudln't it match the thickness of the gun?

Phosphorescent "night" sights can provided with our existing model at some point as an option. I don't know how popular these flashlight-activated sights would be, but they would be inexpensive compared to the nuclear-powered tritium sites that glow for 10+ years. We are planning on offer tritium at some point in the near future that can be fitted to any existing XR9 pistol.

Thinner is better for carry. But if the extension is a removable sleeve, everyone will be happy.

Yep, that would be ideal. Main point is, this isn't a range banger, it's a good gun for when things go bad. You want the extra ammo and don't want to mind carrying 1-2 spares. If the mags are as thick as the grip, your pockets will get full real quick. The main extended purchase you need when all you're thinking is "MAKE THE BAD MAN STOP!", is just below the front strap for extra leverage against muzzle flip. And that doesn't take any meaningful build-up, if any. A simple extended metal mag will do just fine, maybe with a thin, rubbery but securely snapped in, sleeve for texture and cosmetics below the grip. But for a pocket pistol, slim beats perfect, full thickness grip every time. And since range time will be for familiarization for CCW use, there's no point in having range-only ergo mags. Train like you fight, fight like you train.
I'd actually shoot this all the time at the range. I would not hesitate to use it as a range gun anytime; I also plan to run it in IPSC and IDPA and switch it out from the CZ's and glocks.
Let’s test it with Double Tap ammo
