Permalink Reply by riffraff on March 17, 2010 at 6:19am What could possibly catch the trigger that would cycle it all the way through a double action pull?Holstering in my pants is easy. You just use your left thumb to pull your belt/pants away from your body and place the gun where it feels comfortable and doesn't move around. The metal snap that is on the inside of most of the pants I wear messes up the finish on my 2 Sigs but that is of no importance. My self defense guns have to work, not look pretty.

A pocket knife.
A rivet (jeans).
To get the full pull, just have it catch while standing, then sit down.
"Mexican" carry isn't safe, even with a full double-action pull. I don't carry anything without the trigger guard covered.

Permalink Reply by riffraff on March 24, 2010 at 3:52pm My duty pistol is a Sig P226. Off duty I carry a S&W J Model with a Barami Hip Grip as I need something for deep cover. Never Had the slightest movement on the trigger carrying it this way. If I carry my Sig IWB it conceals better than my 2" J Model in a holdster. I've been looking to replace my S&W and was going to get a Sig P239 until I came across the XR9.
I would like to see the XR9 come with an option for a Clipdraw type belt clip for more secure IWB carry.
Also will it be possible to get a 2 barrel setup for the XR9 Shorty (the extra barrel being longer like the proposed Canadan model) ?
Lastly we are required to carry 3 mag, do you plan to make any larger capacity mags? A couple of 10s would be great for added firepower.

Unless you are already on the 'list' to receive one from what I can tell it could be a couple of years before you get your hands on a XR9. There are a whole lota folks on the 'I really want one" list and the first one is not due to be shipped for quite a while yet.
You will NOT be dissapointed with a Sig 239-DEFINATLY get the 'SAS' model. I never dreamed I would only own 2 handguns and they would be IDENTICAL. Get the Hogue grip. The night sights on the SAS models are superb. The SAS also has the edges smoothed and an improved trigger. I paid $785 bucks a piece for mine and they are worth every penny. After all these years and going through about 20 various hangun models I finally found perfection. With luck the XR9 full size, which is the only model I want, will be even better than my Sigs. It will all depend on the trigger. I can live with DAO but it has to be good, comparable to the trigger on the Rohrbaugh R9. The R9 had the only DAO trigger that I could actually live with.

On your Sig 239 did you go with 9mm or 40S&W?
If you went with 40S&W how does it handle?
Thanks-Andy
