Boberg Arms

I was wondering whether the Website members will get the first crack at pre-ordering the Shorty.

I'm starting to get excited - I've been looking forward to this for quite a while.

Whenever I see a new member pop up on the forum, I occasionally get a follow-up e-mail requesting they get added to the pre-order notification list, so there seems to be a some correlation, but I'm guessing that a lot of the guys that are on the forum had been added to the list before the new website debuted.

I am going to send out a pretty significant chunk of notification e-mails, and there will be a 10-day window for everyone to preserve their original inquiry timestamp. After that, the list will be compressed to those who actually order guns. Those who order more than one will get sequential serial numbers.
Please add me to the listfor the Shorty. What will be the price of the weapon?

$849. If you want to be on the list, please send an e-mail to arne@bobergarms.com
Any chance for custom serial numbers?
I'm not sure if this is difficult with the BATFE.
Yeah - Me too Arne,

It's been a year or so since we've talked and I'm ready to give you a credit card or check. What's the current time-line??
Rich in St. Louis
If I treated this as "Digital Machinist" magazine (or forum), and logged and posted each step every day, everyone would see the progress, and see the building a gun business unfold before their eyes. I then would have a lot of help from the public, guessing what the endpoint would be - but I can't do this because of the proprietary nature of our processes. Each time I personally make an estimate, I get it wrong. I have an extremely sharp and focused manufacturing engineer that is working hard to make this gun affordable. If I didn't have him, we would have been selling guns a year ago at a pricepoint of $2k or above. Thanks for your patience!

p.s. I would be totally happy if we could start shipping in July. If we can ship sooner than that, even better!

Oops first one fired blank.
I tried the e-mail link, and got a mail return failure. Would like to be on the list though.

That e-mail link should work. I will type it again carefully: arne@bobergarms.com
You are not on the original list nor on the new G-Mail list - I will somehow need to get your e-mail address to put you on the G-Mail list.
Hi Arne. I've been reading about your new design for a while now, and I must say it is an amazing concept. I'd like to be put on your "advance" list and will send a separate email to you with that request. Has your design been fairly reliable with various ammo manufacturers and loads? Also wondering about misfeeds etc. in rapid fire situations. Finally, may already be elsewhere on site, but am curious about any unique factors as far as cleaning/maintenance/disassembly and availability of parts in future. Looking forward to this going public later this year!
George C.
George,

You are currently on our pre-order notification list. Rapid-fire has no effect on the reliability of the gun. The slide cycles in about 6 milliseconds; human reflexes don't go much below 100 milliseconds. A unique factor with the reverse-feeding mechanism is that it is not compatible with aluminum-cased ammo since this ammo does not have a crimp, which is required to keep the bullet in place during the rearward acceleration of the cartridge.

I have shot hundreds of rounds of good-quality US manufactured ammo without having to clean the lift mechanism area - it seems to stay pretty clean, with the exception of a few flakes of unburned powder sitting here and there. When shooting hundreds of rounds of Russian (and sometimes Mexican) ammo, black crud covers the barrel in some areas and can accumulate in the lift mechanism area. The best solution here is using "Gun Scrubber" (in the spray can) for all the dirty areas, and the gun will be clean in seconds.

We will have an online parts list (with a photo and part number of each part) so that spare parts can be ordered directly online. This will be the same list of parts shown in the owner's manual.
Arne,
I would also like to make sure that I am on your pre order list. I can't remember if I took care of that when I signed up for the web site. Also, I was wondering if things still seem to be on schedule for July sales? Thanks
