Boberg Arms

Hello,

I would like to remind the people of Boberg Arms Corporation that the Boberg 9L with a 4.2" barrel would be legal to ship to Canada when it becomes available.

I have personally been waiting for production news on this gun since I heard about it in the middle of '09. Although I am NOT a dealer myself, there are dealers in Canada that have expressed an interest in importing and carrying this product when it becomes available.

Right now, there are too few American firearms manufacturers who are willing to deal with Canadians. We obviously do not have the size of market here that is available in the US, but there are many, many people who are interested in this particular gun.

I would encourage Boberg Arms to keep this information in mind when production starts on the 4.2" barrel version.

Also, I know that Canadians would appreciate being kept "in the loop" via this website: www.canadiangunnutz.com. It is the largest online forum for Canadian gun owners and has 50K+ members. I am not affiliated with the website in any way, I would just like to make sure that Boberg Arms Corporation knows that we exist and are interested in your products.

Regards,
Canadian Handgunner

Welcome to our new website and forum! I did not know that US firearms manufacturers have been overlooking Canada. I was assuming that all brands were represented across our border. We were extremely enthusiastic about the potential Canadian market for our XR9-L until we found out about the ITAR rules and all of the red tape involved through our US State Dept., not to mention the fees. That being said, we would still like to export to Canada but may seek a third party to handle the exports for us. Otherwise, based on the paperwork I have seen, we would have to hire an employee just to handle exports to Canada. While it is still too early to make a determination at this point, we will do what we can, within reason, to make this happen. Thank you for your interest and invitation to your forum!

Arne,

Thank you for starting your thread on CanadianGunNutz.

I understand that importation rules, regulations and the like can be a hassle. I would certainly encourage you once production begins to contact a Canadian dealer who would be willing to handle the importation. I know that a company by the name of Kodiak Outpost has expressed interest in bringing in the XR9-L when it become available. There are others who are big enough to handle the importation of a large number of guns, namely Questar International, Wolverine Supplies, Arms East and Daves Sports who is an American retailer that regularly imports guns for us.

Thanks for your interest in the Canadian market, Arne.

On the Canadian Gun Nutz forum, the moderator confounded the link to Bobergarms.com. If a non-business, ordinary member had put that same link up there, would the moderator have done the same thing?

yes it is part of the board rules, no hotlinking to non supporting dealers. so just break the link ie: ww w.etcetc.org

however if you wish to promote your product on that website you can contact "greentips" the administrator. i do not belive you are going to need to advertise too much word tends to get around well enough.

I just got done sending a message to "Greentips". I wonder what the site founder has against online auctions - we got a lot of our equipment and furniture through them and it worked out very well.

has greentips gotten back to you yet?

No - I have neither gotten an e-mail nor a PM through the CGN Forum.

Here is a very short slide show on the proposed XR9-SC (Shorty Canadian): http://www.bobergarms.com/photo/photo/slideshow?albumId=2312567:Alb...

Something about the view of that Canadian variant tickles my fancy. Of course, the slightly longer wholeness of the L variant is smoother, but that SC does look cute!
