Boberg Arms

Arne, I'm going to attempt to retro fit the snap down center ( Beretta snap grip finger extension ) to the XR9 mag base plate. If I mess it beyond recognition will I be able to purchase a new one? Also any guestimation when you will be ordering barrels for the XL9-L and extras for those of us who want to purchase one for our shorty?

How about I mail you some factory seconds to experiment with?  They look very good but have a different glass fill than the the standard version.  I also have some non-glass fill ones that had the gate in the wrong place (a minor issue with the cosmetics that got changed).  Just email me your address.

As far as spare parts and our webstore - we already have all spare parts listed in the store, but the store itself is currently hidden until we get through the pre-order list.  Parts shown in the owner's manual can be ordered directly from us via phone, for now.

As far as XR9-L barrels - due to the current demand for the XR9-S, all the barrel stock for the shorter length has been spoken for.  However, we are ordering more stock next week and will be getting quotes on the extended barrels.

Whoa.

This thread is awesome.

I always maintain respect for those who dive in firsthand to improve their platforms instead of relying on others.

Then you have the mfg. offering to donate parts to help.

Doesn't get more relationship-win than this.

One thing about baseplates; on more than one brand-name gun I have used, the baseplates slide off easily when dropped on the floor.  They do not have a strong detent or pin keeping the baseplates from coming off.  One mfg. has been shipping out replacement magazines (as their guns are the most common LE platforms around here and in many parts of the US).

I figure it is cheaper for us to have the customers do any development work on utility improvements than for us to do it. ;-)

However, modifying the internals of the firearm where there exists percussive pressure is best left to us....

Our owner's manual (posted on this site) shows how we retain the floorplate - we use the actual wire of the magazine spring in a deep groove to keep the floorplate from sliding off.  A small screwdriver or other tool is required to lift the wire out since it is in there tightly with an interference fit.  Unless you somehow destroy the super-tough floorplate, that wire is not coming out of there on its own.
