I thought Cor-Bon DPX was +P?
Anyway, an XR9-micro would definitely be +P rated - the action is the same as the taller guns.
This appears to be almost the same dimensionally as the Shorty. Why another model for only 1/4" or so height difference?
Or am I missing something else?
Seems like Beretta is trying to join this party but is not quite getting there sizewise... http://www.berettanano.com/techspecs.html
The height difference between an XR9-S and a proposed XR9-micro would be about .30". In theory, it would hide better due to the shorter grip. However, I currently have no problem hiding the XR9-S either in the front or back pockets, and the frontstrap is long enough where people with smaller hands (especially women) can get all fingers on the grip.
Permalink Reply by Harry Truman on January 23, 2012 at 12:53pm I would definitely consider one of these as well. I love my XR9-S, but a shorter grip would definitely make pocket carry easier. I'd love to carry an XR45-GAP IWB and an XR9-Micro in pocket as a backup. Then I'd give my XR9-S to my son-in-law for a birthday present!
Permalink Reply by josh2415 on January 23, 2012 at 4:02pm I've thought the same thing, though a grip that's .30" shorter is pretty significant when it comes to a pistol sitting in your pocket. Would the magazine capacity still be the same Arne?

Permalink Reply by Harry Truman on January 23, 2012 at 4:22pm Yeah, I find the extra length matters a little for concealment, but matters more when it comes to drawing from a pocket.
Permalink Reply by eric42 on January 23, 2012 at 4:44pm May I ask which holster(s) you are using for pocket carry? I have had good success with a Remora (which I really like, by the way) in the front pocket but not so much in the back. I can finagle it into the a back pocket but the rear of the gun is actually visible.
Given the size of the gun, it seems it would have to be an extremely low profile holster. Maybe I just need bigger pockets.
