Boberg Arms

For anyone who is worried about a 4-5 week wait for a Meco holster...well, today I got the two that I ordered ONE WEEK AGO!   Beautiful quality and fit. This holster is very small, and it makes carrying a breeze.  You can see the cant in the clip that Robert designed.  He did this because he was concerned that, given the XR9's unusual dimensions, it might tend to fall out if carried with the grip too high above the belt.  Hard to say.  Right now it doesn't seem so because it's so new and very tight. Anyway, the short muzzle makes this pistol ideal for carrying in the waistband. The muzzle doesn't poke you in the thigh, even when you squat down or bend over. Nice!  A tiny quibble with the clip:  The way it attaches to the leather makes it just a tad difficult to get on and off.  I have a Don Hume that attaches differently, and I like it a little better in this regard.  But no big deal...I'm nitpicking.  Overall, this is a gorgeous holster that works perfectly.  Very secure and comfortable!

Very nice!  I need to order one just like that.

I like the angle and height - looks comfortable and allows good purchase on the grip when needed.

I have that exact belt. It gives me a reference for size and fit. Also, your casual wear is what I use, sans the vest, but i have a light nylon jacket that would serve as cover.

Looks great Harry!  Think I'll get one based on your endorsement.  I'm curious about one thing though.  In the position you're carrying in the photo above, does the grip poke you in the ribs when you sit?

Hey, Kirk.  No, not at all.  As I sit typing this right now, the muzzle rests right on the middle of my thigh, just below the waist, with the back of the slide about navel height.  This holster keeps the gun fairly tight to the body, which helps to hide it nicely, but the grip never pokes you in any position.  When I climb up into my truck (which has pretty high ground clearance) I sometimes have to reposition it a little, but this is more for the muzzle against my leg, rather than the grip.  Once sitting, it's barely noticeable.  All this is based on my approximate 2:00 carry, so YMMV.

Harry ~  I like the looks of the Meco holster, and everyone seems impressed with the quality of workmanship.

One question:  Does the holster remain "open" enough after drawing your Boberg that is is reasonably easy to re-holster, or is it pretty much a two-handed operation?

Thanks in advance for your reply,

Don

It fit really snug the first day I got it.  Five days in the holster now, with 50 or so practice draws, and it has loosened up just a bit.  Right now it's a PERFECT fit...holds the gun snug, but allows a very smooth and easy draw and re-holster one handed. I'm really loving this holster!

I carry the exact same holster - even the same color - and I fully agree with Mr. President.  Fit is perfect and can easily one-handed reholster.

My preference is to carry in the same 2 o'clock position and I find this to be the most comfortable on my slim frame.  If I am wearing a dress shirt that needs to be tucked in, I will carry in the 5 o'clock position for concealment - an unbuttoned sport coat will cover nicely.

Thanks for the suggestion.  I'm gonna try that 5:00 carry with a sport jacket.  That would be perfect for casual night out with shirt tucked. Might beat pocket carry.

Yeah, that color is "Mahogany", my personal favorite.  I see he's got black and light tan...also a "natural" finish? Think that might be a soft leather, non "glossy" finish?  I also see a bunch of exotic ones, shark, croc, tyrannosaurus, lol.

I just got my Meco IWB in sharkskin. A beautifully constructed holster that's waiting more patiently than I am for the XR9S to show up and move in.

Is that real sharkskin?  What's the texture like?  I'll bet it lasts forever.  Can you post a photo?

It will likely last longer than me.... Here ya go:
