After having shipped about 150 guns now, the most common issue I am hearing from customers is getting the cartridge stuck when pulling back the slide somewhat shorter than what is required.  To be fair,  on a brand-new XR9-S the extractor has been starting out quite tight and requires some break in.  That means that it is likely that when you take this brand-new gun with a brand-new technology feeding mechanism out of the case, it is pretty easy to short-stroke the slide and get the cartridge caught between the ejector and the barrel.  Some types of ammo have a larger diameter groove under the case flange and will go in harder, such as a recent example by a customer with Aguila ammo.

Our goal moving forward is to provide our new guns with an already broken in extractor, so the first round chambers as easily the as the 3000th round.  I am actively working on double-checking, then modifying the extractor neck thickness and measuring extractor spring solid height - both of which come into play on making extractors tight - before doing any final assembly.  For any customers that already have XR9-S pistols, or are in the process of receiving pistols from the 2nd or 3rd batch - you need to let me know if you find it extremely difficult to chamber that first round, even when pulling the slide back as quickly as you can (per owner's manual).  While the extractor should loosen up a lot after a few magazines of firing,  if you become discouraged, or things are still not working right, please contact us so we can take care of it for you.  It is much cheaper to send the slide assembly back instead of the whole pistol, and we will cover the cost of ground shipping both ways.

I forgot to mention that the weak side forearm is parallel to your belt, across your stomach for a low slide racking, and just under your pecs for a near line of sight racking.  Strong side is pushing away like a one arm pushup.

AND probably most importantly, slide is clamped between all of your weak side fingers and your palm.  Four fingers beat a thumb and index finger pinch for most people.  That plus much more gripping surface makes it far superior to a pinch.

...My method is FIRMLY holding the slide in my weak hand (left), close to my body.  The strong hand (right) pushes the pistol away from me as hard as I can, yanking the slide from my weak side grip after getting it to it's rearmost position.

Fight like you train, train like you fight.
