Boberg Arms

Arne,

What is your latest best guesstimate on production of the L model?  I know you can't possible give me a date,  Just a guess of  a month and year.  Does sometime in 2012 seem plausible?

I am curious as to how many folks are on the list for the L model also.

I'm up to my eyeballs right now trying to increase our production capacity to where I think it should be.  If we got another machining center, the argument could be made that it could be used to make XR9-L parts, but seriously, that machine could also be making XR9-S parts and we still wouldn't be keeping up.  I just don't want to grow too fast - businesses that do that can implode.  We have really only been producing guns since June, and have learned a lot since then.  If we had cloned the XR9-S earlier, we would be repeating a lot of manufacturing inefficiencies with the XR9-L.  I'm guessing that it will be yet a couple more months before we have a fully streamlined QC plan - right now we check every part which is extremely slow.  When I used to tell people the XR9-L is "six months out", I said it with hopeful optimism.  If I said the same thing now, I would lying since I just can't see my time freeing up any time soon to ramp up another SKU, even if the XR9-L is my original design and personal favorite.

There is an old business saying:

A man will choke to death faster then he will starve to death.

That saying is dismal and appalling but true. well wait patiently for the L model. Theres no use in miring oneself in complexities that will hurt the business. That said, i love the serrations all the way to the front, like in the prototype that we like to watch firing in youtube...

Thanks for the info. Arne.   I had a feeling this was gonna happen when you decided on the Shorty instead of the L model for your initial offering.  It does really suck though that the only 2 guns I have any interest in(other than what I already have) are L model and a Kel-Tek RFB, neither of which I can obtain.  I know I could go thru gumbroker for a RFB but I refuse to pay the price and have heard of some bad experiences with gunbroker so don't really want to start messing with it now.  Well, life is better when one has something to look forward to.  Sometimes the 'wanting' is better than the actual 'haveing'.  If someone actually has everything in the world that they want it tends to take some of the fun out of life.  Anticipation is a wonderful thing.

Really though, I am curious, how many folks on the list for the L model??????  With any luck I will be included in the first shipment of the L model when it actually does happen.
