Anyone make one yet for the XR9S? Or a Hybrid Kydex leather holster?

Just a couple of ideas:
I think that my Cross Breed SuperTuck would work well for my XR9S if I remolded the trigger guard a little bit.
You could also try any holster built for the Taurus 709S.
Permalink Reply by Atavanhalen on March 19, 2012 at 9:23am I really would like to get a crossbreed mini tuck for my XR9-S. I contacted them, and they said they can not make a holster for this gun at the moment. I am hoping that maybe Arne will offer to send them a gun mold, I think that the mini tuck looks like the absolute best option for me, reason being, since it is adjustable so I could really get the gun deep so hardly any of it is showing, I also like that it is just one thin pc of leather that spreads out across your body, just seems like it would be more comfortable than other options. For now, I guess this conversation is all for null but I am hoping that changes eventually. Does anybody have any ideas for something similar? Thanks

Permalink Reply by Joseph Booher on March 20, 2012 at 3:02am Hi folks, i saw your discussion on a holster for the shorty. I would suggest you check this sight out; n82tactical.com. i have purchased a poly carbonate holster specifically made for my duty Glock 22. I carry it all the time, and the holster is very comfortable. Has a lifetime warranty! They unfortunately at this time do not make a poly carbonate right now for the Boberg, soon I hope. I have advised Arne of this company. They do however make a neoprene type holster in many different sizes that actually molds to the weapon. I do believe that one of these would work for the shorty. Take a look at the website and see what you all think. I have been a police officer for 21 years and have always been looking for the comfortable IWB holster. I found it with this company.
God Bless,
Joe
Hi, Joe. Checked out the site. Looks like a decent holster. The ony thing I wouldn't like about it is that the weight is not distributed and hangs all on one belt clip. I like my doubles. I tried the Boberg in my G-19 CrossBreed holster; and unlike the Taurus 709S, which fits fine, the Boberg doesn't. I do have an OWB Ross #30 made in Africa (beautiful leather) that will work just fine if I am carrying strong side with a jacket or long shirt. All that being said....
I FINALLY got to the range to shoot the Boberg. I discovered that it does NOT like Remington ammo at all! The first round kept mis-feeding. Once I got the first round chambered, the rest seemed to follow without any problem. I will venture on line and pick up some Winchester, Bianchi, Fiocci, or maybe even some Hornady..... whatever is cheapest. LOL

I hope you are right.... I sort of like my Remngton for plinking. I'll be sure to re-post when I find out.
Permalink Reply by alternety on March 21, 2012 at 2:23am It is a known problem. What Bret said is the recommended solution. I believe it could be as few as 2 or 3 mags worth.
Permalink Reply by Joseph Booher on March 24, 2012 at 11:32am Hi Mary, thanks for checking out the site. I understand what you are saying about the weight issue, but I can tell you from experience that I have no issue with my duty G 22 with this holster. The holster stays in place and does not move. Check out some of the reviews on youtube for this holster. There are guys carrying full size .45 with no complaints.
How is your ammo issue now?
Joe
Permalink Reply by Atavanhalen on March 24, 2012 at 12:10pm I am actually gonna order one of the N82tactical holsters, every review I can find is positive. I need comfort and this looks like it will be great.

Hey, Joe.
I have company from out of town and have not had a chance to get back to the range. There's nothing worse than watching someone do something in which you have no interest, so I have not made her suffer that boredom! LOL.
Thanks for asking.

Permalink Reply by BretShooter on March 25, 2012 at 12:16am I tried to determine which model would fit best, using their compatibility chart and Arne's overlays (in Photos) to see which ones had the best match from bottom of trigger guard to top of slide. The ones that appeared to fit best were the Beretta Nano (Page 1), Kimber Solo (Page 3), HK P7 (Page 5), Kahr PM9 (Page 7). Their recomendations for these guns were:
Beretta Nano MC, Kimber Solo MC, HK P7 Not on chart, Kahr PM9 MC.
I then looked up the widths of the 4 guns, to see if there was much difference from the Boberg (.96"
Beretta Nano .90”, Kimber Solo .995”, HK P7 1.1”, Kahr PM9 .90”.
So with that, it looks like the MC will fit the best, but obviously there will be extra room in front of the muzzle.
As far as slippage, hanging by one belt loop, etc, this holster has a huge amount of surface area, which means lots of friction to hold in place against the fabric of your pants, likewise, to skin and undergarments. I would bet it is very secure.
I hope this helps.

Permalink Reply by Atavanhalen on March 25, 2012 at 1:52am Yeah I actually was trying to do the same thing but I decided to send an email to N82 to see what they think, I sent him the dimensions and what not, and he responded with the question "which gun do you have?" I replied and gave him bobergarms.com to look at it. I have not heard back since yesterday but it is the weekend, so hopefully I will hear something Monday. I think you are right though micro compact will probably be the one. Hopefully, he checks out the website and contacts Arne for a gun mold so we can order the professional version soon :)
