Boberg Arms

I received a call from my FFL this morning stating my Boberg had arrived!  After an unsuccessful day of hunting I went over and picked this little gem up.  I must say I am very happy with the fit and finish and it holds nicely in the hand.  The take down of it is pretty straightforward and it is a nice looking pistol in my opinion.  I will try to get a few shots off tomorrow if possible.  I'll post back again after the first range session but I wanted to let everyone know what my first impression was.  Thanks again Arne!

Congratulations -

Just out of curiosity, did you receive any notification (email, PM) that the gun was shipping?

No but I inquired about it to Arne since I figured it should be soon and I noticed my name was spelled wrong on the list.  He told me it would ship soon and it arrived about a week or so later.

Congrats!  Be sure to write a full review!

Just a quick follow up but I finally got a chance to throw a few rounds out of her (14 Winchester White box WinClean 124gr.BEB to be exact).  I was very pressed for time so that was all I managed.  Like a numbnut I didn't slingshot the slide on the first round and got a FTF.  I rapped the back of the slide (still did not feed) and then pulled it back again which ejected the round.  I then proceeded to shoot two mags worth without a hiccup.  Felt recoil was minimal (even less than I was expecting) and follow up shots were quick.  I did suffer a little trigger bite from the end of the trigger but nothing terrible (my Kimber RCP II was bad in this regard).  Accuracy seemed good but I was just shooting at a very small tree from 15 yards with no real target.  I am very pleased so far.  I hope to get a chance to shoot some more soon and will post my findings.

We normally do send out emails to everyone associated with the particular group of guns going out.

Oh, as soon as i get my gun ownership papers squared away, im adding MY name to the list.... together with a welvet lined box with a plaque that reads MINE...

Nothing to special to add but I did get a chance to shoot another 22 trouble free rounds though mine the other day.  Someday I'll get to wring it out a little more!

Out of curiosity what serial number is Arne up to?  Mine are 73 & 74.  I'm up to about a box and a half of misc 9mm without any problems.  I had the same FTF problem on first round until I learned to sling shot the slide.  This is a quality pistol which I am pleased to own.  Furthermore I have been following another new pistol manufacture start up for about 15 months and there is no comparison with the way they are operating and how Arne has run his company.  This company is attempting to manufacture a reproduction of the Merwin-Hulbert revolver originally made in the 1880s.  They require a 25% deposit and if you read their forum they are getting no information from the company.  We are lucky to have Arne.

Is there a list of serial numbers already produced?  I have S0018X but don't really know what that signifies.  Are the "73 & 74" numbers above preceded by zeros?  Is this the 188th Shorty produced?  Date of manufacture for mine would be?  (I bought it NIB from a friend, and so bypassed the list (which I'm still on for another pistol sometime this fall I suspect).

The full serial numbers on my guns are S00073 & S00074.  I took delivery on about 10 November 2011.

Thanks Forrest, that answers my question.  Sounds like I've got the 188th produced excepting personalized serial numbers.
