Boberg Arms

Specs for the full-sized XR9-F: Length: 5.8”, Barrel: 4.2", Height: 4.2”, Width: 0.95”, Capacity: 7+1

Specs for the full-sized XR9-M: Length: 5.35”, Barrel: 4.2", Height: 4.2”, Width: 0.95”, Capacity: 7+1

Other than being .45" longer, what's the difference? Barrel length? Same. Capacity? Same. I mean, where's the advantage?

When I think "full-size", I think in terms of a "duty" weapon, in the same size class as a M1911, a Browning P-35, a Glock 17, a SIG 226 or a Beretta 92FS. The MV / ME advantage of being able to squeeze an extra 1" or so of barrel length into the same size frame would make it worthwhile.

I would like to know how well this system of operation would apply in a double-stack/ single-feed position type magazine, ie: Beretta or SIG. Otherwise, a "full-size" pistol with a 7+1 capacity would actually represent a step backwards.

Extended mags works for me, thank you. Another good option, I think, is a black finish.

I'm glad they work for you. Do you even understand what Arne said?

Maybe you should buy some spray paint.

Thank you for pointing out, you’re right - I did not understand it first time.

Are you for real paint-spray your guns? Then it must be rainbow colors, right?

If you feel like it. I'm not going to judge your preference for rainbow colours :)

I was speaking specifically about Krylon or Duracoat. And I am for real, many of us firearm owners do our own work and research.
I think it would be much better to make this an 8+1 gun in addition to having a longer barrel. I have never been a pocket carrier but I really appreciate the design of this gun that makes it more controllable & compact. I Love the looks of the longer barrelled version (this is the version I happened to see on Google images that caught my attention). I would buy one of these guns if it proved to be reliable. It would most likely be more reliable than the shorty.
I haven't fired an XR9-L for over two years now, and I can honestly say that the Shorty is more reliable (by far).  But that is not comparing apples-to-apples. Now if we made a production XR9-L right now, I'm guessing that there wouldn't be any difference in function since they share the same lifting mechanism and all other parts, except for a few longer ones.  Now the XR9-L is longer and will have more polarity, meaning it will flip slightly less, but the slide and mechanism act so fast in both guns that any differences in gun acceleration would not be noticed by the lifting mechanism.  Remember this is a "pick-and-place" mechanism that does not rely on "timing" or "tuning".  It was created to remove the finicky-ness out of guns this small.
Dear Mrs. Anne Boberg,
I am so much in awe and admiration of your patience & perseverence in dealing with so many questions & comments that show how ignorant so many of us are. You have continually answered questions politely & gracefully (as far as I have seen). You have kept any eye rolling or disgust personal. I wish just to thank you for continually trying to provide better understanding to us all in both firearms and in the makings of this new pistol. I think the makings of this is amazing.

Sincerely, Lance
