Finish Options
Maybe this topic has been covered already? If so, I apologize. Just wondering if a hard chrome finish will be offered or perhaps an all black finish like Robar offers I think it is called Roguard but could be wrong. Would be a great tactical piece with some green night sights. Now that I am thinking about this I think the "nite-boberg" would be the coolest....all black...call it the avenger or something! Would go great with the zytel grips.

The only finish we know of to produce a true "silvery" look is with matte chrome. I have seen companies use clear anodize, which scratches very easily, and I have seen clear laquer on raw aluminum (you probably know who that is). The laquer gets eaten by solvent, and then the aluminum gets pitted by sweat. Hint: think of a popular pocket revolver.
Right now we haven't had the chrome quoted, but we are planning on offering it - it is my personal color of choice.
We are looking at diamond-black to blacken our slides. The sample done at our supplier turned out extremely well!

Our prototype XR9-S is now in the raw-aluminum form, which would be very close to the matte chrome. I will first have to put on our new grips (any day now!) before I post any photos...
