Any women out there interested in carved mother-of-pearl grips for their XR9-S?  How about an off-white matching holster?  Any comments?

I'm not a woman but I am a sucker for fancy grips. Sounds good to me. The more options the better.
Our VP is pushing hard for mother-of-pearl grips. We will have to see how they look with the current engraving; otherwise we will have to make new molds.
Sorry, I'm a guy. Still would be interested in custom grips. My question would be that considering the design of this pistol ...the grips would have to match the magazine base extension (both being made of Zytel I assume). The mother-of-pearl would clash with this unless you could offer a matching base plate or perhaps one made of stainless steel...I think the whole finish should be monochromatic as well (hard chrome)???? Or all stainless frame, slide and base plate (I understand a steel frame is in the works). We're talking an "elite" model here...I am sure there would be a market. Thanks.
We would be providing the grips and magazine floorplates as a matched set. I like the idea of lighter-colored grips to go with a lighter (matte chrome) frame, and possibly a stainless frame in the future.
Arnie,

To quote Gen. George S. Patton: "Only a New Orleans pimp would carry a pearl-handled pistol. These are ivory."

Ivory may not be practical, but there are some synthetics that are very similar in appearance.

Fortunately our VP likes ivory too - maybe that's a better choice. I saw some faux ivory grips going on a BFR when I recently took a Magnum Research tour - and the combination looked sharp!

Hi urbock, I tried a pair of beautiful Ajax pearl grips with a gold Colt medallion on a stock Colt Defender (matte grey frame, brushed stainless slide and black sites). The grips were great looking but clashed horribly. If one does go the route of pearl...I suggest a chrome finish (slide, frame and sights- monochromatic). Just the artistic side of me speaking. As for the faux ivory grips...Freedom Arms is offering these on a limited basis (actually an off-white Micarta) that goes very nicely with the brushed stainless. Check out the combination Arne if you have the time. It may give you some ideas for the "elite Boberg". That's usually what I do when planning a custom gun (see what others have done just for ideas and then improve upon that. P.S. I here "Ivory" Micarta is in low supply. Oh I guess this makes me a New Orleans pimp (I'm wiping tears of sadness from my eyes as I type this) LOL

Don,

No offense intended. I've just never had a chance to use that Patton quote before, and I do rather like it.

You'd have to convince me about pearl grips, though. My mental image of them is pretty gaudy, but I've been wrong before.

Hi Urbock! No offense taken:) I rather enjoyed Patton's quote as well...I needed a good laugh. Thanks. Funny how we guys have taken over the "Accessories for Women" discussion! LOL I need to get my wife signed up on this site and then maybe get some better (actual female) advice on this topic. Thanks again everyone for your replies. It's wonderful having a gun company actually taking input from future customers...really great. Wish all companies were like this.

YES, please. Would love to get a entire matte chrome frame or an entire Stainless/Satin frame.
