Puh-LEEZE, Mr. Boberg!
Make your trigger guards large enough "for the big knuckled gentleman" ;-)
I have to take a heat-gun to every polymer-framed/ polymer trigger guard self-laoding pistol I own to be able to get my trigger finger in the guard and be able to press the trigger to the point where the weapon will fire.
K-frame S&Ws are fine, and even J-frames, with just a bit of relief grinding.
Kel-Tec P-32s, P-11,Taurus 709, Glocks bind on my trigger finger's 1st joint.
You have a truly unique pistol that I would like to be able to shoot....Sure do hope you have adequate room for thick fingers.
One of the reasons I haven't bought a Kahr is the possibility of ruining an $800+ pistol trying to get it to the point where I can fire it convetionally. (I'll gamble with a pistol costing half that near 1K ammount, but I'me never happy doing so....)
Looking fwd. to your XR9-F, but only if I can get my trigger finger within the guard without the "wedgie" problem which cna make trigger pull aprox. 20+ lbs. andinterfier wiht trigger re-set as well.
What is the diameter or circumference of your trigger finger? My father has XXXL hands and corresponding fingers, but he has not operated an XR9 yet. I would use him as a "worst case" test unless you come in bigger.
Migosh!
A man who actually reads his lists to gain "input"! (Shocking ;-) (& thank you....)
To my surprise, my 1st knuckle is three inches in circumferance/ around.
Measuring with dial calipers it is .90" wide x .753 @ the crease of the first knuckle. (This is where I have found was "best" for me to control a DA trigger for the last 35+ years that I have been "serious" about DA pistol shooting.)
I am not a big guy....(Mebbe an honest 5'9" now with the way your spine telescopes as you age...210 lbs.)
Small, thick hands....By todays' standards anyways....(If you were ever around sheep shearers, hardrock miners, blacksmiths, farriers, or just some of the guys at the local tire shop that change truck tires you will see much larger paws than mine, and thicker hands/fingers as well....)
I generally take and XL work glove, but they are most always tight on my trigger finger.
