The .45 ACP version is still going to have a frame that is longer by 1/2".
Permalink Reply by Blueorison on March 31, 2012 at 1:53pm Arne, I really hope you keep the .357SIG alive!
I'm still eagerly awaiting the F sized models and one in .357SIG would be a tremendous boon. It's going to be the only handgun I carry, concealed, and adopting it over the 9mm caliber as an option would be greatly-appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Of course the .40 S&W is ballistically inferior to the 10mm Auto -- whereas the 45 GAP is ballistically equal to the 45 ACP... ;)

If Boberg Arms is toying with the idea of producing a pistol for a shorter version of the .45 ACP round - the .45 GAP, wouldn't it also be appropriate for them to consider a shorter version of the 10mm round - the .40 S&W?
Reasons? Because the 45 GAP is ballistically equal to the 45 AUTO (especially in short barreled pistols) -- although in the shorter OAL cartridge...

Good point. Now I am going to have to review my reasons/excuses for leaning toward the GAP.

Permalink Reply by Blueorison on April 1, 2012 at 1:56am You might be correct, William, but no one I know and many do not own the .45 GAP. I'm not sure it would be worth the tooling time.
Great points, though.
Arne would sell every XR-45 GAP he could make! A true pocket pistol in .45 caliber -- people would buy the 45 GAP ammo for it... ;)

Permalink Reply by LASZLO DIGIOIA on April 1, 2012 at 9:34am Ammo is reasonably affordable, GAP brass was available at the gun show yesterday, Arne has a picture of a GAP mockup disappearing in his back pocket, and he told us the "critical geometry" was easier or closer to his 9mm or something.
Permalink Reply by Blueorison on April 1, 2012 at 12:01pm That's... a good point, haha! It was the reverse train of thought that I had, but still makes a lot of sense. Good catch.

After having done a search for GAP ammo, it seems readily available on the web. There's something to be said for the smallest .45 semi-auto ever offered.
